TCJ My-Stock DB Grids TCJ My-Stock DB displays the contents of a database in three ways: horizontal grid, vertical grids, and in graphs (bar and pie charts).
The Excel-like horizontal grid allows quick scanning of one variable across all parts. For example, reviewing all the brands in a group of ICs; or scanning the column of vendors to see how often EBay shows up.
This grid can be user adjusted to show only desired columns and in the desired color. Each column’s width can also be individually adjusted. All changes will be “remembered” when the program is next opened, as the changes are saved to the hard drive.
The vertical grid, on the other hand, allows quick scanning of one part with all its variables (brand, type, name, cost, location, etc) in view, as one’s eyes cannot get lost in a single column of information.
Both grid types accept in place editing of data, with most of the fields offering easy to use drop-down combo edit boxes, which come preloaded with applicable entries. To edit a cell just click on it. For example, in the vertical-grid screen capture shown to the right, the vendor cell in the 1-ohm resistor column has been mouse clicked. |
